Our Parents and Friends Group
The Parents and Friends (P&F) Group at Our Lady of Fatima School plays a vital role in supporting the Principal in leading the school’s mission across the key domains of Catholic Identity, Education, Community, and Stewardship. In alignment with Catholic Education Western Australia’s (CEWA) vision to be Christ-centred and child-focused, the P&F fosters a spirit of collaboration and partnership within our school community. The P&F also plays an essential role in supporting Quality Catholic Education (QCE) Element 3.2 – Parents and Caregivers, which recognises parents as the first educators of their children. Through active engagement, the P&F strengthens the home-school connection, enriching the educational journey of every student.
Some of the functions of the P&F in relation to the Terms of Reference include:
- Collaborating with the Principal to plan, organise and promote social, sporting, cultural, educational and faith formation activities for the interaction of parents, school staff, parish and students and in doing so provide opportunities for community engagement, where relevant.
- Supporting the Principal in the facilitation of fundraising events for the benefit of the students.
- Encouraging parental participation in school programs, particularly those related to parent engagement in learning.
- Organising guest speakers for the P&F members on current and suggested educational programs, faith development and other matters of interest.
