Our Learning

Curriculum

At Our Lady of Fatima School, we implement the Western Australian Curriculum, which provides a clear framework for learning across all year levels and areas, supporting the development of essential knowledge, skills, and values. All teachers are required to develop their learning and teaching plans to ensure that our education provision for students in Pre-Primary to Year 10 is approved, accredited and/or recognised by SCSA:

  • is in accordance with the SCSA published requirements
  • is consistent with the SCSA implementation timelines for courses, and
  • is consistent with the SCSA Assessment and Reporting Outline

We are committed to nurturing the whole child- academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually- through engaging and inclusive learning experiences. Our approach fosters curiosity, creativity, and resilience, ensuring that every student is supported to grow confidently and thrive in all aspects of their development.

In addition to Religious Education, English and Mathematics, classroom teachers implement the curriculums of Health, Design Technologies and Humanities and Social Sciences.

We offer the following specialist areas for students in Pre-Primary to Year Six, with students participating in weekly lessons:

  • Science
  • Digital Technologies
  • Visual Art
  • Performing Arts
  • Physical Education
  • Italian

Students from Kindergarten to Year Six also visit the library weekly.

Our Lady of Fatima School is part of a regional Catholic schools sporting association. Selected students participate in Interschool Swimming (Years Four to Six), Athletics (Years Three to Six) and Cross Country (Years Three to Six) Carnivals. Additionally, in Years Five and Six, there are opportunities to participate in the following Interschool Carnivals:

  • Cricket
  • AFL, Soccer and Netball
  • Modcrosse and League Tag

Artwork from students from Our Lady of Fatima School has been selected to be showcased at the annual Angelico Art Exhibition. Groups of students have also represented the school at the Catholic Performing Arts Festival, in areas such as Bible Reading, Choral Speech and Christian Dance. Some of our students have also represented the school at the Interschool Spelling Bee, Creative Edge Problem Solving Competition and Speak Up Awards.
